We're Going Across The Pond
Got our plane tickets - May 23 flying nonstop from Tampa to London's Gatwick Airport, returning on June 21, nonstop Gatwick Airport to Tampa; got some, but not all, of our places to stay; got medical trip insurance.
We're going on a short walk in Great Britain. We'll begin St. Oswald's Way and then continue on Hadrian's Wall Path. Our first walking day is May 31 and our last walking day is June 16.
St. Oswald's Way starts out from Holy Island (Lindisfarne) in the north, then follows the Northumberland Coast before heading inland to Heavensfield and Hadrian's Wall. We will continue on Hadrian's wall until Carlisle.
Getting to/from Holy Island involves crossing during low tide. Needless to say, we will be consulting the Holy Island crossing times on the Northumberland County Council website.
Walking to/from Holy Island takes a couple of hours, so the wisdom is to start walking a couple of hours before low tide (the tide is still going out). The causeway crossing times for May 31 are 8:00 am to 2:55 pm, so low tide is around 11:30, so we will want to on our way around 9:30!
